Modern Blues lines played by guitar players like; Scott Henderson and Robben Ford contain outside notes that slightly clash with diatonic tones. Many of these outside notes are easily sorted out if students make a quick study of the Diminished Scale. In the lesson, the Diminished is explained and several lines are also demonstrated for practice.

Hybrid Picked Double-Stop Lines
Hybrid picking guitar technique is a killer idea to use when playing long melodies. Combining 3rds, 4ths, 5ths, and 6th intervals with the technical side of hybrid makes for an awesome performance. By taking a mode and arranging it so that its intervals travel as 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 we can develop the modes own unique arpeggio. It would be similar to thinking of the arpeggio as the modes unique seven tone arpeggio. The end results of the sounds we can create from these modal arpeggios are very interesting.
