Scales have a huge role in the creation of melody. Whether you are composing pre-established lines, improvising or transcribing... scales are simply paramount. The ability to accurately target chord tones is one of the most valuable skills that a composer or improviser can master. However, the training to accomplish this can often become difficult in terms of success. In order to gain the skills required, it is valuable to study arpeggios diatonically. This lesson explains a study method where guitarists can achieve high levels of success with their use of arpeggios.

Creating Original Guitar Licks
Guitar players will often spend hours learning other peoples guitar licks. This is great, however we also need to learn how to re-shape licks so they can work over any solo, (otherwise our lines start sounding highly contrived). This lesson explains how to use a simple blueprint for creating original guitar licks. The system will allow for any melodic statement to be re-worked to create dozens of new licks.
